Great Southern Route

The great southern route has great distance navigation between areas. You can explore all different types of diving in it and you can also see an exclusive place there and all of this thanks to safari boats because they’re the only method allows you to see these beautiful dives. The great southern route is one of the most wonderful routes which has many and various environmental resources, it also has famous dive spots like dolphin reef where we can snorkel with these free mammals or the St. Thanos reef chain. We will visit the labyrinth of Claudia Reefs caves in furry shoal and we will be dazzled by the light play that forms underwater all these awesome things. We will explore them in port Ghalib marine, we will also dive in Marsa Alam and we will go in Searen of the dugongs that live in the sand prairies. If we have a chance, we will explore the reef of Habili Ali in search of the Longmans.

Where We Dive

St John

St Johns was formed by 10 reefs and extends over an area of 29 km between all the points we can emphasize” Habili Ali” or” Habili Gaffar”. St Johns is located on more than 150 km south of Marsa Alam where only life boats aboard crossing the tropic of cancer on the border with Sudan. At St. Johns, there are many varieties and amazing lives of dives. All types of life seek shelter and food in the different points that makes the chain of reefs, so there are dives with sharks and dives with white, and bottoms where the coral formations receive the divers inviting underwater photography and the possibility of performing night dives in the reefs to the south. They all are usually inhabited by large banks of carangids and tune. Also you can see a mixture of endemic life with the Indian life.

Marsa Alam

Marsa Alam region, we can find the southernmost city in the Egyptian Red Sea coast. It expands from port Ghalib to 70 km southbound. Most dives in this area are shallow reef life, there are very lively and sandy bottoms, the dive is suitable for all levels because of the light and reef life in the shallow depth in Marsa Alam. It’s difficult to find sharks, but you can find dolphins and dugongs. In the bays of Marsa Alam, Marsa Shoona or Marsa Mubarak you can see the vicinity and it’s easy to encounter these animals. You can snorkel and even dive with these mammals whose species are supposed to be extinct.

Fury Shoal

The furry shoal reef chains and also known as Satya; expands 9km from north to south and 30 km from east to west. It’s located about 13 km from the north of the Ras Banas peninsula. There are 20 reef banks with a variety of breathtaking scuba diving although not all reefs are viable for scuba diving, there are broken reefs which have a unique beauty all over the red sea. All points in fury shoal area are immersions with a lot of life and color. You can enjoy watching landscapes and coral gardens. Most dives in fury shoal are suitable for all levels the beginners and the experienced divers. We shouldn’t miss there, highlights when we visit this area the first one is broken reefs, its 500m long elongated reef which surrounded by colonized coral reef walls banks of cardigans and tunas tend to prowl around the southern platform the second is Elaudia Reefs it is the most beautiful reef in Egypt because of back lighting, its caves and its passageways. The third is Satya Island or it is called dolphin reef and it’s the important point of fury shoal where we can snorkel with herds of wild dolphins which live inside the bay

Elphinstone Reef

Elphinstone reef is one of the most popular dive sites in all of red sea its 45 m without counting the south and the north platforms it is located about 11 km from the coast and 20 km north of Marsa Alam it’s one of the most wonderful visited by the safari boat and dive centers it has two large and great plateaus at each of its corners its walls are covered with soft coral wire coral black coral and Gorgonians all these make this reef one of the best from the others; the Elphinstone reef is very exposed to the sea and very frequent specially in the north platform these currents make that great amount of life is in the north zone being able to find banks of barracudas tunas m fusiliers, snappers and jacks and also turtles and dolphins which come up the Elphinstone with their young-lings to feed themselves

Travel development

Day 1 – Saturday – reception at the airport and transfer to the boat. Introduction of welcome with basic and safety rules, cab sharing. Night on board.

Day 2 – Sunday – first thing in the morning, control of the coast guard and beginning of navigation. We will do two day dives. Night of navigation.

Day 3 – Monday – a very complete day exploring several points of the St. Jhons area, 3 day dives and 1 night dive.

Day 4 – Tuesday – In the morning we will continue to enjoy St. Jhons. In the afternoon we moved to Fury Shoal. 3 day dives and 1 night dive.

Day 5 – Wednesday – full day to enjoy the walls, caves and reefs of Fury Shoal. 3 day dives. Night sailing to Marsa Alam.

Day 6 – Thursday – a very relaxing day where we will visit different points of the area of ​​Marsa Alam, with its magnificent landscapes and reefs. 3 day dives and 1 night dive.

Day 7 – Friday – depending on conditions, Elphinstone Reef or Marsa Shoona, 2 maximum dives. Return to port and transfer to Hurghada. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 8 – Saturday – departure of the guides and transfer to the airport according to return flight. End of our services.

Requirements

Passport: Passport in force with a minimum of 6 months of validity.


Tourist visa:  to enter the country it is necessary to manage the tourist visa. It can be obtained at the airport of entry to the country at your arrival or at the embassy of Egypt in your country of origin.;


Documentation on board:  diving certificate and Nitrox certificate in case you want to dive with this mixture. Dive insurance in force with international coverage. If you do not have dive insurance, you can take Dan Europe insurance with Red Sea coverage with us.


Diving computer:  you must bring the dive computer with you, it is mandatory to do the dives with at least one computer per person.


Safety buoy:  To mark your position every time it emerges to the surface, you must bring a deco buoy with you.
